#streamcaribbean - "If Everything is Written" by Ludovic Louis (May 2024)

My favorite album of 2024 so far. I love it. As with "Rebirth", Ludovic Louis (Martinique) tells a story. The opening track "Sunrise" serves as an introduction and "Moonlight", the final track, as a conclusion. Sometimes introspective, sometimes festive, we move from one mood to another, like the ups and downs in life. Although you can hear the soul, hip-hop and funk influences, the Caribbean roots remain, creating a sophisticated and cool pop universe. I'm not a trumpet specialist, but I think this album would win over even the most jazz-averse person. It's exactly the kind of songs you'd hear on a film soundtrack. Frankly, I don't know what more to say. I love it.
